KHARTOUM, August 17, 2018 (MENA) - Sudanese army Chief-of-Staff Kamal Abdul Maarouf signed an agreement with his Ethiopian counterpart Seare Mekonen to deploy joint forces on their borders with the aim of combating terrorism and human trafficking and eliminating security threats. In press statements late Thursday, Abdul Maarouf said his talks with the visiting Ethiopian general comes within the framework ofcontinued coordination and joint action between the two sides. The relations between the two countries are eternal and historical, he explained, adding that both armies maintained historic ties. For his part, Mekonen said Sudan and Ethiopia have recently cooperated with regard to protecting the joint borders, pointing out that they would continue to work side by side in the face of security threats.
