Gov't plans to set up dry ports, logistic zones

CAIRO, August 7, 2018 - Transport Minister Hisham Arafat said there is a plan for establishing several dry ports and logistic zones to serve trade.
During a meeting on Tuesday with the board of the General Authority of Land and Dry Ports, Arafat said dry ports and logistic zones would be set up in the Sixth of October City, 10th of Ramadan City, Sadat City, New Borg el Arab City, New Beni Suef City and New Sohag City.
The project for establishing a dry port in the Sixth of October City had been put out to international tender, he said.
Reviewing the final account and budget, he said the authority had realised an LE129 million surplus in the 2017-2018 Fiscal Year, with an LE47 million rise.
