CAIRO, July 30, 2018- The Ambassador of the European Union (EU) to Egypt Ivan Surkoš expressed happiness to participate in the 7th annual ICT4PwDs 2018 Conference and Exhibition held at Al Manara International Conference Center in Cairo. Surkoš underlined that the EU implements many technological programmes which promote innovation and creativity in order to allow technology to reach the disabled, adding that there is long-term co-operation between Egypt and the EU in the fields of research and creativity. Egypt and the EU inked an agreement on bolstering science and technology 10 years ago, Surkoš asserted, noting that scientific collaboration is a main pillar of bilateral cooperation. He further voiced keenness on promoting co-operation in these fields via research and creativity programmes till 2020. Surkoš also hailed Egypt's key role in the scientific research and creativity initiative, pointing out to the EU's support to the technological and scientific co-operation via the bilateral programme "Creativity in developing researches" which helped boost the culture of creativity in Egypt.
