CAIRO, July 24, 2018 (MENA) - Egypt's Prime Minister and Minister of Housing Dr Mostafa Madbouli Tuesday visited sites of various projects currently being implemented at New Alamein City. The premier asserted that the first phase of the city should be completed by 2020. This includes the beach, residential units, universities and the culture and heritage city which groups a library, a mosque, a church, cinema theatres, a museum and the hotels and lakes area. The city centre apartment buildings should be delivered in 2019, along with the construction of four engineering colleges, the hostels of the Arab Academy for Science Technology & Maritime Transport (AASTMT), the engineering and international law faculties and the administrative buildings of the Alamein National University, he said. Work has started on the establishment of an integrated residential compound along 98 feddans out of a total of 600 feddans. Six large Egyptian contractor companies have been assigned to carry out the project of the city which will be built in the old Alexandria style that resembles classical cities. The "Latin District", which will be the name of the city, will be built on 400 feddans, he said. The number of residential towers has been increased to 18 instead of 15 and four other 33-storey towers are being mulled, he said, adding that an Olympic games hall is being mulled and negotiations are underway with European teams to organise winter camps in the city.
