CAIRO, July 23, 2018 - President Abdel Fattah El Sisi is due to inaugurate Tuesday a number of giant national projects of importance to the country's energy sector, the Spokesman for the Presidency, Ambassador Bassam Radi, said Monday. The president is due to commission three major electric power stations that have been built by Siemens, Germany's giant conglomerate and Europe's largest industrial manufacturer. One of the stations is located in the New Administrative Capital, the other in Beni Sueif to the south of Greater Cairo and the third in Burullus in the River Nile Delta's governorate of Kafr el-Sheikh. The three plants are projected to produce a total capacity of 14,400 megawatts, representing nearly 50 per cent of additional electricity of our national grid, Spokesman Radi said. President Sisi is also due to inaugurate the Jabal al-Zeit wind power station Tuesday. The station is the world's largest such facility, the presidency spokesman said.
