CAIRO, July 4, 2018 (MENA) - Minister of Military Production Mohamed el Assar said the Ministry is working on upgrading the infrastructure of youth and sports facilities in the various governorates in line with the state's objective to protect Egyptian youths and provide them with equipped sports facilities. The minister's remarks were made after Assar's meeting with Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Sahar Nasr and Sport and Youth Minister Ashraf Sobhi to probe cooperation between the three ministries in supporting youth projects in the implementation of directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi. In a statement released on Wednesday, Assar said the meeting dealt with the establishment of an integrated youth centre in Asmarat City, Moqqattam District, on an area of 11.5 feddans according to a cooperation protocol signed between the three ministries. The project, which comprises playgrounds, swimming pools and gymnastics halls, is financed by the Ministry of Investment and International Cooperation and is being implemented by the Military Production Company for Projects and Engineering Consultancy. Meanwhile, Nasr asserted that the Ministry is giving a priority projects which serve youths. Nasr, in her capacity as chief of the Executive Committee of "Long Live Egypt Fund", underlined the importance of enhancing youth projects especially in Asmarat suburb.. Sports Minister Ashraf Sobhi, for his part, said the ministry's plan is upgrading youth centers to serve with social development by providing integrated health and sports services. The meeting also discussed boosting cooperation with "Long Live Egypt Fund" in carrying out movable food vans project for youths that comes in line with the state's strategy to back small- and micro-scale enterprises with the aim of providing new job opportunities for youth and enhance the economy through building special areas for such projects with a civilised facade.
