CAIRO, July 4,2018 (MENA) - Agriculture Minister Ezzel Din Abu Steet reviewed on Wednesday with head of the World Bank's Sustainable Development Programme Ashish Khanna boosting cooperation in the agricultural sector. Abu Steet welcomed stepping up cooperation between the ministry and the WB to find appropriate ways to develop the agricultural sector and the Egyptian countryside. Improving small farmers' living conditions and increasing their income are top priorities for the ministry, he said. Donors, like the WB, can help the ministry as regards creating more jobs for youths, developing agricultural exports and applying the latest technology in the agricultural sector, he said. Khanna said the WB is ready to offer necessary support to the ministry, adding that the bank mulls going into a partnership with Egypt's private and government sectors operating in the agricultural domain to upgrade this important sector.
