MOSCOW, June 28, 2018 (News Wires) -Gareth Southgate will make widespread changes to his England starting XI for the final group game against Belgium – including dropping Golden Boot contender Harry Kane, according to reports. On the eve of the match which will decide who finishes top in Group G, Southgate dismissed suggestions that there would be any circumstances in which England would not play to win, despite second place seemingly guaranteeing an easier route in the knockout stages. England are currently level on six points, goal difference and goals scored with Belgium, topping the group by virtue of their superior fair play record. But Southgate also underlined he could use the match to tune up some of the fringe members of his squad and with Belgium also planning to field an understrength team, Southgate seems to be plotting a number of changes. Reports emanating from the press following the national team are unanimous in declaring that Jamie Vardy will be handed his first start of the World Cup, in place of Kane, who has five goals to his name already. Romelu Lukaku, with four goals, has already been ruled out due to injury. Marcus Rashford could also come in for Raheem Sterling, who has underperformed so far in Russia.
