CAIRO, June 26, 2018 (MENA) - Egypt succeeded in leading the UNRWA during a difficult and challenging time, said Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid on Tuesday. In press statements, he added that Egypt's presidency of the UNRWA consultative committee came at a really tough political and financial situation for the United Nations relief agency for Palestinian refugees. Despite all challenges Egypt was capable of maintaining the pace of work inside the cash-strapped agency and exerted its utmost to guarantee that its activities and invaluable services to the Palestinian refugees would not stop. He explained that Egypt has contacted Arab and foreign donors to guarantee continuing contributions to sustain the agency and support its activities.
