CAIRO, June 8, 2018 (MENA) - Agriculture Minister Abdel Moneim El Banna discussed with a research delegation from a number of US universities, including the universities of Michigan, Cornell, Purdue and California Davis means of cooperating in order to establish a center of scientific excellence in the fields of agriculture, irrigation and energy. During their meeting on Friday, the minister expressed the ministry's readiness for providing all kinds of support through its research centers in order to enable this center to carry out its mission. Banna noted that the Ministry of agriculture will be the coordinator of the project. The minister also lauded the importance of the US research delegation's role in providing its scientific contributions in the domains of rationalizing irrigation water and taking advantage of renewable energy which would serve the agricultural side and currently-established mega projects topped by the 1.5 million Feddan Project. The meeting was attended by a galaxy of Egyptian and US professors.
