CAIRO, June 4, 2018 (MENA) - The Central Agency for Public Mobilisation and Statistics (CAPMAS) said that Egyptian cotton exports (from December 2017 to February 2018) increased by 181.6 per cent to reach 379,700 tonnes against 134,800 tonnes during the same quarter of the previous year. In its quarterly newsletter for the Q2 of the agricultural year 2017-2018 (December 2017 to February 2018), the agency said that total consumption rates of domestic cotton reached 47,200 metric kantars (one kantar is equal to 45.02 kilograms), compared to 127,600 metric kantars during the same period of the previous year, registering a decrease of 63 per cent.
