RIYADH/ISTANBUL, May 18, 2018 (MENA) - The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) called for launching an independent probe into the killing of Palestinian protesters at the hands of the Israeli occupation forces on the Gaza border, its Secretary General Yousef bin Ahmed Al Othaimeen asserted. Also, the OIC urged the UN Human Rights Council to form an international committee to investigate Israeli crimes and bring the culprits into justice, Othaimeen said. He made these remarks during his speech at the council of foreign ministers' meeting prior to the 7th session of the OIC extraordinary Islamic Summit conference on the latest developments in Palestine. He deplored the Israeli barbaric assault on Palestinian protesters on the Gaza border, killing and injuring hundreds of them. The absence of accountability encouraged Israel to persist with its settlement policy, he said. At the end of his speech, he called for zero-tolerance towards any country that supports Israeli claims on Al Quds (Eastern Jerusalem), demanding the international community to protect the Palestinian people from the Israeli fire.
