CAIRO, April 29, 2018 (MENA) - Greek President Prokopis Pavlopoulos has hailed as close and distinguished relations with Egypt. In an interview with Al-Ahram published on Sunday, Pavlopoulos praised President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's efforts to boost ties between Egypt and Greece. The relations during the presidency of Sisi have been strengthened and developed and took significant dimensions in many areas, he told the Cairo daily. Cairo under Sisi has turned into a regional power that restored its strength and status in the region and the world, the Greek leader added. Pavlopoulos, who will start a two-day visit to Cairo on Monday to attend a week of events on foreign communities in Egypt in Alexandria, said that the West, especially the European Union, should recognise that Egypt during the rule of Sisi has gained power and turned into strong edifice against terrorism.
