CAIRO, April 21, 2018 - The Head of the Egyptian members of the Egyptian-Sudanese Business Council, Ryad Armanious, on Saturday called for removing hindrances on the way of promoting business and trade relations with The Sudan. Egypt and Sudan, Mr. Armanious said, agreed to speed up the implementation of joint projects in the fields of petrochemicals and fertilizers. He added that the Council members also agreed to implement joint agricultural production projects in The Sudan, with a focus on the cultivation of crops needed by Egypt. Mr. Armanious underscored the importance of the presence of industrial partnerships between the two neighbours. He said these partnerships would serve the best interests of the Egyptian and Sudanese peoples. He listed the pharmaceutical industry, agricultural industries and logistical zones as areas of interest for both countries. Meanwhile, the Head of the Council's Sudanese members, Mr. Youssef Ahmed Youssef, said that the meetings, which wrapped up its activities in Cairo on Saturday, recommended setting up an Egyptian industrial zone in Khartoum.
