CAIRO, April 10, 2018 - The Court of Cassation revoked on Tuesday death sentences for eight defendants, life sentences for two and a five-year jail sentence for four others in the case of forming a terrorist cell charged with violence and murder in the Warraq area, Giza. The court ordered the retrial of the defendants at the Giza Criminal Court after an appeal filed by them for the retrial. They had been charged with joining an outlawed group to suspend the constitution and laws and attack the personal freedoms of citizens, and to damage national unity and social peace.
