CAIRO, March 28, 2018 - A strong dust storm, coupled with a heat-wave, on Wednesday hit Cairo and some other governorates. Many motorways throughout the country have been closed due to low visibility; including Cairo-Assuit Motorway, Red See roads and El-Frafra-Dairut Motorway, which connects the Oasis with Assuit Governorate. According to a weather station in Garden City, down town Cairo, the current conditions at 20:51hrs were as follows: atmospheric pressure reached 997.97 hPa, visibility was as low as 480 metres and relative humidity reached only 51 per cent. Asthma and allergic patients, aged people as well as children are advised to stay at home or in a well ventilated place to avoid dust.
