CAIRO, March 20, 2018 - Prime Minister Sherif Ismail said on Tuesday that the Cairo government was keen on boosting different co-operation frameworks with Beirut and overcoming obstacles may face Lebanese businessmen here. During his meeting with the newly-appointed Lebanese Ambassador Ali al-Halabi, Premier Ismail highlighted the importance of taking advantage of tourist and cultural venues available in both countries to enhance bilateral co-operation. The prime minister discussed with Ambassador al-Halabi ways to increase Lebanese investment in Egypt with Lebanon now that the Egyptian government had signed free trade agreements with many African countries. For his part, Ambassador al-Halabi, who is also Lebanon's permanent delegate to the Arab League, said that Egypt was witnessing an economic renaissance and exerting serious effort to achieve sustainable development. Later in the day, Prime Minister Ismail held similar talks with the Kuwaiti Ambassador, Mohamed Saleh Al Duwaikh, on ways of giving a further boost to bilateral relations in all fields. The prime minister expressed Egypt's appreciation to Kuwait's support of Egypt during the past few years. He pointed out the Egyptian government welcomed more and more foreign investments. The Kuwaiti diplomat praised the depth of fraternal relations between the two countries, praising the current development of these relations at all levels. He pointed out that mega projects and economic reform measures that are being implemented in Egypt indicated a promising economic future.
