CAIRO, March 20 (MENA) - The cabinet's Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC) denied on Tuesday rumours about the government's plan to withdraw ration cards from citizens whose income stands at EGP 2500 or more. The IDSC dismissed as "baseless" reports circulated by some websites and social media pages in this regard. It said the government seeks fair distribution of subsidies among citizens. Within this context, the Supply Ministry called on media to verify the authenticity of its news materials and sources. At the same time, the centre has denied reports posted on several websites and social media pages on a decrease of supply commodities and a hike in their prices at retail outlets ahead of the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan. In a report released on Tuesday, the center said it has contacted the Ministry of Supply and Home Trade which totally denied such news. There is no decrease in commodities, on the contrary there are abundant quantities that are being delivered to outlets every day, the ministry said.
