Egypt's minister of planning and minister of foreign affairs have met to discuss integrating their ministries' efforts to promote the country's new economic development narrative and enhance cooperation with international partners, the two ministries said in a joint statement. Minister of Planning Rania Al-Mashat and Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty on Sunday discussed strengthening national efforts within the framework of cooperation with international institutions, regional blocs, and development partners. Al-Mashat reviewed the pillars of "Egypt's Narrative for Economic Development: Reforms for Growth, Jobs & Resilience," and noted her ministry's keenness to coordinate with the foreign ministry to present the country's economic vision and reforms to the diplomatic corps. Abdelatty emphasized the pivotal role of the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development in supporting projects in African countries and the necessity of coordinating to exchange expertise, particularly in project preparation, which enhances other countries' capacity to obtain financing from international institutions. The two ministers discussed joint coordination within the framework of Egypt's current presidency of the D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation, its membership in the BRICS group, and its participation in G20 meetings. They also addressed the Forum on China–Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) and South-South and Triangular Cooperation, stressing the importance of coordinating efforts to transfer Egypt's expertise in private sector development finance and technical support. The ministers reiterated the importance of promoting the country's "NWFE" platform for climate projects, which has mobilised more than $5 billion in concessional financing for the private sector to implement renewable energy projects since its launch in 2022. The meeting also covered joint files within the framework of the Egyptian-European strategic partnership, the EU's "Mediterranean Compact," and the strategic partnership with the United Kingdom.
