Ahmed El-Sobki, Chairperson of the Egypt Healthcare Authority (EHA), Assistant Minister of Health and Population, and General Supervisor of the Universal Health Insurance Project, met with Armin Ernst, CEO and President of Steward Healthcare International Group, and Mohammed Amin, CEO of Elaj Group. During the meeting, El-Sobki emphasized the importance of exchanging experiences and cooperating with both groups in various healthcare fields. This aligns with strengthening the strategic partnership relations between Egypt, Arab countries, and the world. It also supports the development taking place in all sectors, particularly the healthcare sector, which has positive effects on achieving the goals of sustainable health development in accordance with Egypt's Vision 2030 and promoting its economic growth. He also mentioned several proposed areas of cooperation to deepen collaboration in the healthcare sector, which can be studied intensively in the coming period. El-Sobki explained the EHA's intention to apply a "value-based healthcare" model to achieve its vision of providing an advanced model of healthcare with international standards under the universal health insurance system. During the meeting, El-Sobki stated that transforming from a "business model treatment" system that relies on the size of healthcare to a "value-based healthcare" system based on institutional excellence, strategic planning, and risk management is one of the success factors in reducing personal spending from citizens' pockets on healthcare and improving their health. "The pioneering Egyptian experience in health reform and universal health coverage through the universal health insurance system enjoys great international support. This paves the way for accelerating more constructive cooperation and creating opportunities that benefit all parties," he said.
