FDC Summit supports cybersecurity, with participation of over 6,000 professionals

The organizing committee of the FDC Summit has announced the participation of more than 6,000 specialists in the activities of the summit's fifth session, under the auspices of Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications.
The event has grown by more than 25% compared to last year 2022 in terms of the number of attendees, exhibitors and speakers. It included the participation of more than 80 speakers in 60 panel discussions and technical lectures on many topics, most notably the future of digital transformation, modern global trends in the field of cybersecurity, the data center industry, the Internet of things, and artificial intelligence.
According to an official statement issued by the Organizing Committee of the event, the activities of the fifth session witnessed holding a number of bilateral meetings between the vice presidents of the participating international companies, namely Erjan Aydin, Vice President of Emerging Markets at PALO ALTO NETWORKS; Mark Jo, Chief Technology Officer for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at PALO ALTO NETWORKS; Pierre Castelno, Vice President, EMEA, F5; Gaurav Mohan, Regional Vice President, NETSCOUT; Marks Josephson, Vice President, Nozomi Networks. They met with a number of government agencies such as the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA), the Information Technology Industry Development Authority (ITIDA), and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The meetings aimed to get them acquainted with Egypt's future vision in the field of communications and information technology in general and the state's efforts to enhance the future of cybersecurity solutions and products in particular.
The meetings also aimed to discuss ways to enhance the investments of international companies in the Egyptian market.
The FDC Summit activities also included a number of specialized meetings between developers of modern technologies from international companies and heads of technology in both banking institutions and oil companies, to get acquainted with the latest developments and technical changes in the field of cybersecurity and ways to address potential attacks, in addition to getting acquainted with the recommendations of international companies. As a result, the necessary precautionary measures would be taken to ensure the best performance of the digital transformation system in the main sectors.
A number of agreements were signed, most notably the announcement by the global company BeyondTrust to choose MCS as a strategic agent for its business in the Egyptian market, and a cooperation agreement was signed between the Internet Society of Egypt and the global MENA Cloud Alliance.
The FDC Summit organizing committee commended the active role of all its partners during the activities of the fifth session, namely Orange as the platinum sponsor, F5 and Netscout as prime sponsor, Gigamon, Palo Alto as the main technology partner, Lenovo-Intel, Cisco, Trellix and TrendMicro Thales, OpenText and Mandiant Google Cloud Technology Partners, GPX as Data Center Partner, AWS and E-Finance as Cloud Computing Partner, Benya Group as Infrastructure Partner, Nozomi, Ivanti, BeyondTrust, Optima and Infoblox as Value Added Partners, Middle East For MCS IT Services as a Value Added Distributor, and VectoryLink as the official media partner.
In addition, strategic partners included the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the Computer Emergency Response Center for the Financial Sector (EG-FinCERT), the National Post Authority, the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA), the National Center for Computer and Network Emergency Preparedness – EG-CERT, the Information Technology Institute (ITI) and the Rowad 2030 program at the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development. Industry partners from civil society organizations included the Chamber of Information and Communications Technology Industry, EiTESAL, the General Division of Digital Economy and the Egypt Internet Association.
