International Cooperation Minister participates in World Government Summit 2023 in Dubai

Minister of International Cooperation Rania Al-Mashat takes part in this year's World Government Summit (WGS), under the theme "Shaping Future Governments".
The summit includes government leaders, ministers, senior officials, decision-makers, thought leaders and specialists in financial, economic and social affairs from around the world, to exchange experiences, knowledge and ideas that contribute to promoting development and prosperity around the world.
Al-Mashat is scheduled to participate in two panel discussions in the forum, the first is titled "Leadership in a Volatile World". Mohamed Al-Jasser, Chairperson of the Islamic Development Bank Group; Terence Mauri, Founder of Hack Future Lab, London Speaking Bureau; and Mansour Al-Awar, President of Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University, will deliver speeches.
She is also participating in another discussion session on "Women in Government: Powering the Future by Her", along with Kersti Kaljulaid, former President of Estonia, and Mona Al-Marri, Vice President of UAE Gender Balance Council. The session will be moderated by The National's Mina Al-Oraibi.
The WGS is being held under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Minister of defense of the United Arab Emirates and ruler of Dubai, from 13-15 February. This year's summit is scheduled to see the participation of over 280 government delegations, 80 international and government organizations, and over 200 speakers in over 300 sessions and 22 forums over the summit days.
The WGS in Dubai aims to highlight six key axes of accelerating development and governance, by focusing on enabling governments to develop innovative government models, policies and technology through the upgrading of government services and innovation. It also discusses the future of societies and healthcare, the importance of addressing issues related to work ethics and behavior, addressing the state of global health systems, including mental health and analyzing future developments, as well as exploring new perspectives of science through science and technology to solve the most prominent challenges and seize opportunities of the next decade.
Additionally, the summit addresses the governance of economic resilience, connectivity, support and implementation of economic frameworks, structures and policies that contribute to promoting economic recovery and enable governments to achieve economic resilience, prosperity and transparency by reducing the effects of man-made crises, designing and sustaining global cities, highlighting the importance of accelerating sustainability and resourcing our world towards rapid urban expansion, and finally education and jobs as government priorities and focusing on prioritizing learning and work as key to bringing about changes for future generations and their development.
