Al-Sisi directs increasing investment in healthcare services

President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi met on Monday with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, and Presidential Advisor for health Mohammed Awad Taj El-Din.
Ambassador Bassam Radi, the spokesperson of the presidency, said that the meeting followed up on public health initiatives and developing health services nationwide.
In this context, the President was briefed on the mechanisms to develop the health service delivery system in basic care units, including those under the Decent Life initiative, with a view to increasing operational rates, increasing their structural efficiency and supporting the services provided.
The president directed the allocation of incentive packages for medical staff working in the basic care units, as well as providing them with all the necessary medicines and devices to carry out their role to the fullest.
He also directed the addition of specialized clinics to the services of basic care units at the Republican level, which helps to cover the provision of health services for young people who are about to get married, as well as follow-up of chronic disease patients and care for the elderly،
The president demanded working to activate emergency services around the clock in some basic care units, as well as studying the provision of home services for the elderly and people with special needs.
The minister of Health also presented the existing efforts to improve the health of the Egyptian family and strengthen reproductive health and family planning programs.
In this regard ,the president directed to hold an annual conference with the participation of all relevant experts, so that the health situation at the Republican level is addressed, and the position of the various services and initiatives provided in this regard،
He also directed the intensification of the health awareness process, especially with regard to the provision of family planning services, and spreading community awareness of the importance of the population issue and its impact on maternal, child and family health through reproductive health.
In the same context, the president also directed the organization of integrated action plans, including the launch of the "knocking on doors" campaign, to ensure the provision of reproductive health services and the benefit of all groups in governorates, villages and hamlets, in order to achieve the largest possible coverage of those services.
The official spokesperson added that the president was also briefed on the executive position of the national projects in the health sector, the completion rates and the completion time plan for each project, where he directed the need to adhere to the timelines for the completion of those projects and work to remove any obstacles hindering the speed of completion, especially the Nasser Institute development project to become the "Nile Integrated Medical City".
In this regard, the president also stressed the importance of increasing investment rates in the fields of healthcare in accordance with international standards for the provision of health services and expanding partnership with the private sector to improve the quality of health services provided to citizens in accordance with international health standards،
During the meeting, the president was also briefed on the latest executive position of the Medical City in the new administrative capital and its new hospital with a capacity of 300 beds, in addition to the efforts to develop the Central Laboratory Department in Badr City, as well as the efforts to develop the public ambulance facility to expand ambulance services.
