15,000 COP27 participants from different nationalities arrive in Sharm El-Sheikh Airport

Sharm El-Sheikh International Airport expects to receive 7,500 people on Saturday, who will participate in the Conference of the Parties on climate change (COP27), amid intensive precautionary measures.
Governor of South Sinai Khaled Fouda said that Sharm El-Sheikh Airport received 7,500 participants of different nationalities on Friday, bringing the total number of participants who arrived in Sharm El-Sheikh over the course of only two days to 15,000 participants.
The governor confirmed that facilities are being provided inside the airport, in addition to the presence of specialized teams to receive the conference guests from their arrival at the airport until they are accommodated to ensure the provision of high-quality services, this conference will reflect the civilized image of Egypt, and its ability to organize such international conferences.
He explained that preparations for the conference, scheduled to start on Sunday, were completed in the presence of President Sisi and a number of leaders and leaders of European, Arab and African countries.
He pointed out that the maximum state of emergency was declared in the sectors at the governorate level throughout the period of the conference, and security measures were tightened for those coming and leaving from the governorate, starting from the Martyr Ahmed Hamdi tunnel to the city of Taba, in addition to the intensification of fixed and mobile ambushes throughout the city of Sharm El-Sheikh to secure guests.
They arrived at Sharm El-Sheikh airport and even the accommodation, and the rapid deployment forces were stationed in the streets of Sharm El-Sheikh to secure the events of the conference, in addition to a large security presence in civilian clothes to maintain security of the city.
He added that the pestles and mountain paths, especially the link between South and North Sinai, were secured to comb them, and to ascertain the identity of the residents in mountainous areas and valleys, and to conduct investigations about those who did not have the national number in South Sinai.
The governor continued: "Coordination was also made with the Traffic Department to intensify traffic campaigns in the city of Sharm El Sheikh to prevent traffic congestion during the conference period," in addition to intensifying traffic campaigns to examine driving under the influence of drugs not only in the city but along the international road, stressing that there is a continuous follow-up to procedures Securing the conference activities, whether accommodation or the conference launch hall, and the blue and green areas, and providing all hotels with advanced security devices to detect explosives.
EgyptAir, the official carrier of the climate conference, organized about 250 flights between Cairo and Sharm El-Sheikh airports during the period of the summit, to transport about 40,000 participants in the conference with the company's latest aircraft, in addition to direct flights to Sharm El-Sheikh Airport from London, Paris, Frankfurt, Munich, Istanbul, Dubai, Lagos, and Nairobi.
