Egypt on Saturday condemned in the strongest terms the brutal attack carried out by the Houthi group on the Al-Dabba port in Hadhramaut province.
The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs held the Houthi group responsible for the current escalation in Yemen and obstructing efforts to renew the truce.
It stressed the need for the group to abandon its intransigent positions and respond immediately to international and regional efforts to renew the truce, in a way that paves the way for reaching a permanent ceasefire and making room for political settlement efforts and lifting the suffering of the brotherly Yemeni people.
The statement also warned against the consequences of any party exploiting the current international conditions to fuel the conflict in Yemen, threaten the security and stability of the region and navigation routes, or attempt to seize the economic capabilities of the brotherly Yemeni people.
It stressed Egypt's firm support for the unity of Yemen and its sovereignty over its territory and its full solidarity with it in the face of all threats
The internationally recognized Yemeni government announced Friday that the Houthi militia "carried out two terrorist attacks" on two oil ports in the eastern provinces of Hadhramaut and Shabwa.
The government said in a statement: "The Houthi militias committed a terrorist attack with drones and missiles targeting the Al-Dabba oil port in Hadhramaut, while a ship was docking to ship crude oil from the port".
