Egypt condemned a terrorist suicide bombing on a military training centre south of the capital, Mogadishu, that killed 10 Somali army recruits and injured dozens. According to statement issued by the spokesperson of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Egypt expressed its condolences and sympathy to the government and people of the brotherly state of Somalia, as well as its sincere condolences to the families of the victims of the accident. The statement also stressed the constants of the Egyptian position towards condemning all forms of violence, extremism, and terrorism, the need to address them and dry up their sources, and Egypt's full support for the stability of Somalia and the safety of its brotherly people. According to local news site Garowe, a suicide bomber killed at least 10 army recruits and injured dozens after blowing himself up outside the General Dega Badan Military Training School in southern Mogadishu. On Friday, the Somali National Armed Forces announced that its personnel managed to kill 15 militants of the Al-Shabaab movement — which is lined to Al-Qaeda — in the Galgududu province of Somalia. It added in a statement that the terrorists were dealt with after they tried to attack the bases of the National Armed Forces in the province. Al-Shabaab is waging a war of attrition against the federal government and controls large areas of the southern and central parts of Somalia. Last May, the US decided to renew strikes against the terrorist group in order to combat the growing threat it poses to US partner forces.
