We are implementing development projects in partnership with the private sector: Finance Minister
Published in Daily News Egypt on 19 - 04 - 2022

Minister of Finance Mohamed Maait said that his ministry is implementing public-private projects (PPP) in various development fields, adding that the ministry deems these fields the engine of a job-rich economic growth and a fundamental pillar for achieving sustainable development.
He also said that the second phase of the national project to establish and operate 1,000 distinguished language schools under the PPP system is witnessing an increasing demand from Egyptian and Arab investors, which is why the pre-qualification door was opened for investors last March, noting that 25 March is the deadline for pre-qualification applications.
Furthermore, Maait said that the national project for the establishment and operation of distinguished languages schools contributes to raising the efficiency of the educational process by providing an outstanding level of education in cities and new urban communities as well as reducing the number of students in public language schools by establishing alternatives with low tuition fees that suit middle-income parents who are looking for the best opportunities possible for quality education for their children.
For his part, Atter Hannoura — Head of the Central Unit for Partnership with the Private Sector at the Ministry of Finance — stressed that developing partnership with the private sector is a goal and that it can be achieved by supporting all administrative authorities in structuring and implementing projects under the PPP system.
He also explained that applicants' qualification applications are studied, and their technical, financial, and legal ability is examined through a joint committee with the Ministry of Education.
Furthermore, Hannoura said that there is a noticeable demand from parents' side for distinguished language schools that provide a high level of education that a family with an average income can afford.
He added that the coming period will witness an expansion in the implementation of projects in the PPP system in many development areas, including sea water desalination, sewage treatment plants, and dry ports.
