Egypt condemned the latest Houthi terrorist attacks against Saudi Arabia, which targeted a number of economic and civil facilities on 20 March. The attack was carried out by drones and ballistic missiles, causing material damage to some vital facilities and homes in Saudi Arabia. The Houthi rebels in Yemen escalated their hostile cross-border attacks on Saturday evening and Sunday dawn towards Saudi Arabia, targeting civilian targets and economic facilities in a systematic and deliberate manner. On Saturday, the attacks targeted a facility run by oil company Aramco in Jizan, southern Saudi Arabia, the Saudi-led military coalition said. The Houthi attacks also hit a desalination plant in Al-Shaqeeq. The targeted sites also included the electricity transmission station in Dhahran Al-Janoub, the gas station affiliated with the National Gas and Industrialisation Company in Khamis Mushait, and a liquefied natural gas plant run by Saudi Aramco in Yanbu. In a statement, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that targeting these vital and civilian facilities in Saudi Arabia is a grave escalation and a blatant targeting of the security and sovereignty of the kingdom. The statement described the attack as a direct threat to security and stability in the region, asserting that this despicable terrorist attack represents a flagrant violation of the principles and rules of international law.
