Egypt is hosting the 17th conference of the Committee of Intelligence & Security Service of Africa (CISSA) in Cairo. It is the largest African intelligence conference, it will be running from 12 to 13 December. Egypt's General Intelligence Service received the chairmanship of CISSA from Nigeria's head of intelligence for one year. President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi welcomed the heads of African security and intelligence services. Al-Sisi stressed the need to spare no effort to preserve the security of the African continent and achieve the aspirations of the peoples of its countries. CISSA is an annual gathering that was established in 2004 in Abuja, Nigeria. It is a closed-door event for intelligence operatives that has grown to become the premier gathering of intelligence and security services in Africa. Committee of Intelligence & Security Service of Africa raison d'etre is to assist the African Union and all its institutions to effectively address the seemingly intractable security challenges confronting Africa. It was also conceived as a mechanism of dialogue, study, analysis, consulting, concerting, and adopting common strategies towards common security challenges among Intelligence and Security Organisations of Africa;
