Egypt's Minister of Health and Population Hala Zayed, inspected the quarantine zone and preventive measures at the Luxor International Airport, on Monday, as part of her field visit to follow up on the workflow of the comprehensive health insurance system in Luxor.
The minister is accompanied during her visit by Dr Ahmed El-Sobky, Assistant Minister of Health and Population for Monitoring and Follow-up, and Head of the Health Care Authority in the Comprehensive Health Insurance System, Dr Mohamed Hassani, Assistant Minister for Public Health Initiatives.
Dr Mostafa Ghanima, Assistant Minister for Therapeutic Medicine Affairs, Khaled Abdel Rahman, Head of the Central Project Administration Ministry, and Dr. Amir Al-Talwani, Executive Director of the Health Care Authority, also accompanied the minister in Luxor.
During the tour, the minister directed the Assistant Minister for Public Health Initiatives to finish vaccinating all workers in the tourism sector in both Luxor and Aswan governorates with the Coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine during August.
She said that the vaccination aims to ensure the health and safety of all workers and guests of Egypt in conjunction with the state's plan to stimulate tourism and safe coexistence with the Coronavirus.
Zayed also reviewed the stock of medicines and medical supplies in quarantine to ensure the availability of sufficient stock, and also reviewed the preventive and precautionary measures carried out by the medical team at the quarantine at the airport, according to the guidelines of the World Health Organization (WHO).
She stressed the continuation of implementing the cabinet decision not to allow entry to the country for those coming from abroad unless obtaining a PCR certificate stating that they are COVID-19 free, or obtaining an approved certificate stating that they received the full doses of one of the approved vaccines from the WHO and the Egyptian Drug Authority 14 days before arriving in Egypt.
