Egyptian President's visit set to witness discussions on Ethiopian Dam, security in Red Sea, updates on Sudanese-Ethiopian border conflict

Egypt's President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi arrived in the Sudanese capital Khartoum, on Saturday, in his first official visit following the formation of the latter's transitional sovereignty council.
Al-Sisi's visit, at the beginning of which he was received during a national ceremony, comes as a consolidation of Egypt's efforts under his leadership to support Sudan and its people during the current important historic stage.
It also reflects Egypt's keenness on joint coordination and the unification of visions and positions between the two countries on various issues of mutual interest, according to statement by Egyptian Presidency spokesperson Bassam Rady.
The president's visit to Khartoum is scheduled to witness a joint summit, as well as a number of bilateral meetings with senior Sudanese leaders and officials. These will discuss various files related to joint cooperation, and ways to strengthen bilateral relations, especially on the military, security and economic levels.
The bilateral meetings are also set to serve as an embodiment of the strong mutual will between the two countries.
The two countries look forward to enhancing the frameworks of cooperation between them in all fields and in a way that contributes to achieving their common interests.
Al-Sisi's visit is also scheduled to witness discussions on the most important developments regarding regional and continental issues. In particular, there will be focus on the issue of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD), security in the Red Sea, and developments on the Sudanese-Ethiopian border conflict.
