Euro 2020, Copa America postponed due to Coronavirus
FIFA supports UEFA and CONMEBOL's decision, intends to reschedule Club World Cup 2021

After Coronavirus caused the suspension of many leagues around the world, the European Championship (Euro 2020) and the Copa America were postponed until 2021, tournament organisers decided on Tuesday.
The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) and the South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL) announced, on Tuesday evening, the postponement of the Euro 2020 and Copa America, respectively, to the summer of 2021, due to the outbreak of the COVID-19.
UEFA's decision aims to allow other European championships to be completed this summer.
UEFA had announced, earlier, the postponement of the matches of the Champions League and the Europa League due to the outbreak of the virus.
UEFA has set 27 June and 24 June as the new dates of the Champions League final and the Europa League final, respectively.
In the same context, Gianni Infantino, FIFA president, hinted at the possibility of changing the date of the FIFA Club World Cup 2021, after the European and Copa American championships were postponed to next year.
In an official statement, Infantino said, “FIFA will hold a video conference, during which the decisions of the European Union and the South American Federation will be ratified, and the possibility of holding the FIFA Club World Cup, which will include 24 teams, will be discussed later in 2021, 2022 or 2023.”
“The International Federation received requests from the federations of South America and Europe to postpone the Copa America and Euro tournaments until June and July 2021, and this timing was dedicated to the Club World Cup, which prompted us to consider changing the date,” FIFA said in a statement on its official website.
The dreaded virus continued to hunt the Italian Juventus players. After Daniele Rugani was infected, the virus infected Blaise Matuidi, the old lady's midfielder, as Juventus confirmed in an official statement that the French international had isolated himself in his home for some time and that symptoms of the disease had not yet appeared.
The Italian league clubs decided not to pay the salaries of their players, after the suspension of the league competitions due to the spread of the virus, and the club heads seek to reduce the losses.
Meanwhile, Francisco Garcia, the Spanish coach, died last Monday after catching Coronavirus. Garcia was earlier diagnosed with Leukemia, and the young coach failed to fight the virus.
