Telecom Egypt takes additional measures to combat Coronavirus
Company bans meal deliveries, uses e-mail to make decisions

Telecom Egypt has started taking new precautions to combat the Coronavirus. According to a post sent by the company to its employees, it approved work from home to reduce the number of employees present in company offices and the adoption of e-mail as a means of communication. The company will also be doubling the monthly packages of mobile services for its workers.
The company also decided to grant a 14-day leave for working women who have children under 12 years old.
The company also suspended all training programmes for employees and prohibited travel abroad for all employees. Domestic travel will be done in coordination with the direct manager.
The company adopted a video conferencing system as a means of holding meetings, and also prevented the company from having food delivered outside of the office, closing the cafeteria, and calling for people to use the mini-market.
Telecom Egypt has taken a number of preventive measures to confront the novel Coronavirus, and according to its preventive measures, the company has discontinued the use of electronic fingerprint attendance devices and replaced them with manual signatures.
The company also instructed its employees to avoid approaching people showing symptoms of respiratory diseases such as coughing and sneezing, and advices people to catch their coughs and sneezes with disposable tissues, and to thoroughly wash their hands.
It also stressed the necessity of cleaning toilets and the availability of sterile liquids, in addition to the provision of healthcare services for any employee showing symptoms specific to the Coronavirus. The company also suggests maintaining healthy habits, nutritional balance, physical activity, getting between seven to eight hours of sleep every night, and staying home if feeling under the weather.
