GE Healthcare launches Definium XR120 in Egypt
Published in Daily News Egypt on 04 - 10 - 2019

GE Healthcare and Alfa Healthcare have announced the launch of Definium XR120, an X-ray equipment that brings the world of digital technology to imaging facilities, delivering continuity of patient care in Egypt.
Inspired by the need to deliver a cost-effective digital alternative to analogue imaging technology, Definium XR120 streamlines workflow and saves valuable time, while providing wireless access to critical data from anywhere.
Through a faster mobile image acquisition —within two seconds— the equipment helps radiologists make safer, swifter decisions with the ability to view multiple shots on the go and get a simultaneous access to data for multiple patients from different rooms, all by one detector.
In order to expend its market presence across North East Africa, GE Healthcare onboarded a channel partner, Alfa Healthcare, to be their X-RAY distributor on the Egyptian market.
"Through this new partnership with Alfa Healthcare, GE Healthcare is highlighting its commitment to expand its presence in Egypt and deliver the latest X-Ray technologies to our customers across the country," said Managing Director for GE Healthcare in North East Africa Amro Kandil.
"The launch of the Definium XR120 is a great example of that, and a direct correlation to the company's commitment to early detection for the customer and ultimately the patient," he added.
CEO of Alfa Healthcare Muwafak El Mabrok, added: "Our first priority through this partnership with GE Healthcare is to support Egypt's healthcare system by providing the best in class X-Ray technologies, and we underscore that with 12 months payment facility for our customer to acquire the equipment."
X-Ray, the world's oldest form of medical imaging, is the hospital's first impression of a patient. Just like first impressions with people, the first image taken helps set the path going forward.
More than 300 GE healthcare X-Ray technologies are installed in the country, across public and private healthcare facilities, helping radiologists and doctors do the right diagnostic with quality and speed.
GE Healthcare provides transformational medical technologies and services, shaping a new age in patient care. To date, GE has more than 14,000 healthcare technologies installed across Egypt to help bring better health to more people. Today the company employs a strong local workforce of over 200 employees across three regional offices in Cairo, Alexandria, in addition to a new one in Assiut under construction, serving as a hub for Egypt.
