There has been debate worldwide on the effects of e-cigarettes and alternative smoking products such as vapes and tobacco heating products. Are they less harmful than traditional cigarettes? Are they the future of nicotine consumption? It is widely understood that it is the burning of tobacco – not nicotine – that causes the majority of smoking related health risks.
Existing smokers who look for alternative ways to get their nicotine without the harmful effects of inhaling tobacco, tar and a mix of toxins are looking at e-cigarettes for the solution. Recent reports and published medical research studies conducted by a number of International Public Health Administrations and Health Organizations such as WHO, Food and Drug Administration, France's High Council on Public Health among others have found that e-cigarettes in general have considerably contains Fewer toxicants as compared to those found in traditional cigarettes.
Dedicated government experts like the UK's Public Health England (PHE) estimate e-cigarettes to be up to 95% safer than continuing to smoke (as per report recently released by the Public Health England) and Cancer Research UK have supported vaping in the fight against smoking related diseases.
The published data as per the report by the Public Health of England also assessed emissions from cigarettes and e-cigarettes and calculated their lifetime cancer risks. It concluded that the cancer potencies of e-cigarettes were largely under 0.5% of the risk of smoking.
In addition to the potentially reduced risk factors associated with e-cigarettes, there are additional societal benefits that make a positive case for e-cigarettes, and tobacco heating alternatives.
The British Medical Association (BMA) Board of Science revealed in their published paper that e-cigarettes have significant potential in supporting smokers to cease smoking. Passive smokers breathing vapor from e-cigarettes also stand to benefit from society's adoption of e-cigarettes over traditional tobacco products due to the fact that they do not contain tobacco nor produce tobacco smoke or many of the chemicals in it.
It's worth mentioning that the Egyptian specification for E liquid have been published in the official gazette in March 2019. The specifications that has been published by the Egyptian organizations for specifications and standardization ( EOS) under the Ministry of trade is in line with the global standards for E liquid .They have used the European directive ( 2014/40/EU ) AFNOR and CORESTA as main references as mentioned in the specification).
