Egypt's Minister of Investment and International Cooperation, Sahar Nasr, along with Majaliwa inaugurated the Egyptian-Tanzanian business forum on Tuesday, where Majaliwa praised both countries' close cooperation in recent years.
"Over a very short period of time, we received Egypt's Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouly, and high-level business missions. It is time for us now to come to Egypt and identify the Egyptian business community about the Tanzanian economy's updates," Majaliwa added, explaining that his country implemented wide taxation reforms to support investment and allow the economy and trade to flourish in Tanzania and the seven neighbouring countries that rely on Tanzanian ports.
Egypt and Tanzania enjoy a historical sturdy relations, Majaliwa asserted, "Egyptian businessperson can make very good use of the joint political approach specially that the Tanzanian economy grows by 7.1% this year."

For her part, Minister Nasr said that Egypt and Tanzania are the pioneer founders of the African Union (AU), noting, "Egypt is now the president of the AU and there is a great opportunity to deepen the cooperation between both countries."
Egypt has implemented significant economic reforms in line with issuing some measures to encourage investors to inject new investments into the country and into African markets, the minister noted, adding that Egypt is keen on transferring its knowledge to its African partners, especially in the fields of water and food security.
Nasr joined Tanzanian Prime Minister Majaliwa's call on businessperson to promote the joint investment partnerships in order to achieve more success for both countries.
Ambassador Nassor asserted the importance of Majaliwa's visit in strengthening joint cooperation, especially in the field of investment, adding that last year joint cooperation witnessed a leap following the establishment of the Stiegler's Gorge Hydroelectric Power Station (SGHPS) that is expected to contribute toward supporting the Tanzanian economy.
