Parliament launches new Youtube channel to communicate with citizens
Channel will not air live session, posted on the official website of the Egyptian parliament

Parliament Speaker Ali Abdel Aal announced the launch of the first YouTube channel to air the parliament's activities and communicate with citizens.
Following the start of the parliament's fourth round, parliament spokesperson Salah Hasballah said in a televised interview that parliament sessions will be aired during the fourth round.
The new YouTube channel will include six sections including airing Abdel Ala activities, the activity of secretary general Ahmed Saad, and for parliament deputies' special activities, as well as media reports and documentaries. The channel will provide weekly coverage for the parliament's activities.
This came during a plenary session on Monday that also witnessed discussion over several bills, while a few members were present. During the session, Abdel Aal criticised the attendance level of the government representatives and members.
The Youtube channel was also posted on the official website of the Egyptian parliament.
In January 2016, Parliament Speaker Ali Abdel Aal announced during the first parliamentary round the suspension of the broadcasting of parliamentary sessions following the request of around 40 members. The decision was justified as an attempt to control the image of the members, after the violations witnessed during the opening session by some of the members, and at the time it was declared as temporary ruling.
As per Constitutional Article 120, the parliament sessions should be held in public, and a secret session is only allowed after a request by either the president or prime minister, as well as the parliament speaker or at least 20 of the members.
