Shoukry meets new president of UNGA before leaving New York
Minister conducted several bilateral talks during his presence in UNGA

Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry held talks on Saturday with the recently-appointed President of United Nation General Assembly (UNGA) María Fernanda Espinosa Garcés, as part of his final meeting on the side-lines of 73th round of the UNGA.
During the meeting, the officials reviewed the ideas of the agenda of the new president that had given priority. Shoukry expressed Egypt's support for the president's agenda, which aimed at supporting the efforts and the pivotal role of the UN in addressing many issues of concern to the international community at various levels of politics, security, and development.
Shoukry further asserted the importance of enhancing the role of the UN in advancing the agenda of sustainable development 2030 with its various economic, social, and environmental dimensions and working to achieve stability in countries facing crises.
He also said that Egypt is looking forward to strength the partnership between the UN and the African Union in various fields during its presidency for the African Union next year.
The officials also discussed ways to enhance cooperation between Egypt and the UN secretariat, especially under Egypt's presidency for Group of 77. The discussion also focused on the reform of the UN Security Council.
Moreover, Shoukry met with representatives of the American Jewish Congress and asserted the importance of investing all American communities, in order to revitalise and strengthen US relations with Egypt in its economic fields.
The meeting also focused on boosting the Egyptian-American relations and addressing the regional situation and its effects on the security and stability of the Middle East and asserting the importance of intensifying coordination and political consultation on regional issues between the two countries.
