Trade exchange between Egypt, world amount to $65.625bn in 9 months: CBE
Imports at $46.814bn, exports at $18.81bn between July 2017 to March 2018

The value of trade exchange between Egypt and the world from July 2017 to March 2018 amounted to $65.625bn, according to the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).
In a recent report, the CBE stated that imports in that period reached $46.814bn, while exports scored $18.81bn.
According to the CBE, 14 countries traded with Egypt with a total of $39.049bn.
It pointed out that the value of Egyptian exports to these countries reached $11.989bn, while imports from these countries reached $27.06bn.
The UAE ranked first in terms of Egypt's most important trading partners, as the scale of trade exchange amounted to about $4.511bn, including $2.627bn in imports and $1.884bn in exports, followed by China with an exchange of goods worth $4.21bn, including $3.918bn worth of imports and $291.7m of exports.
Moreover, according to the report, the US came in third with a trade exchange estimated at $3.591bn in total, of which about $2.125bn was imports and $1.466bn was exports. Saudi Arabia then followed in the fourth spot, having exchanged $3.522bn worth of goods in the same period. That included $2.729bn in imports and $792.3m in exports.
Italy followed in fifth, bearing a trade exchange totalling $3.333bn, including $1.433bn in imports and $1.899bn in exports.
The value of trade exchange between Egypt and Germany was about $3.014bn, including $2.265bn in imports and $749m in exports, while trade with the UK reached a total of $2.946bn, including imports of $1.626bn and exports worth $1.319bn.
The CBE added that Russia was the seventh most important trading partner for Egypt in the period between July 2017 and March 2018, as imports amounted to $2.618bn and exports reached $171.4m, totalling $2.789bn worth of trade. Switzerland followed with a total trade exchange of $2.331bn, including $1.51bn in imports and $720.2m in exports.
Turkey ranked next on the list with a total trade value of $2.129bn, including $1.294bn in imports and $835.5m in exports, then France with a total exchange of $1.982bn, including $1.568bn in imports and $413.4m in exports.
Then came India with a total trade exchange estimated at $1.949bn, which included $1.155bn in imports and $794.19m in exports, followed by Spain with $1.452bn, including $866.5m of imports and $585.7m of exports.
Brazil came last on the list of 14, with a trade value of $1.318bn, including $1.318bn in imports and $66.8m in exports.
According to the CBE, other countries were not detailed with trade exchanges reaching $26.575bn, including $19.754bn of imports and $6.821bn of exports.
