One Yemeni citizen was killed and another wounded on Saturday in an air raid by the Saudi-led coalition. The coalition launched three airstrikes on the Al-Jarahi district in Hudaydah in western Yemen. According to the Saudi Press Agency, two Saudi soldiers were killed on its borders with Yemen on Saturday. Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia announced forming the Coalition for Supporting Legitimacy in Yemen following the Ansar Allah group, also known as the Houthis, backed by Iran, seized control of the capital Sanaa in September 2014. Besides Saudi Arabia, the coalition includes the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Bahrain, Pakistan, Djibouti, Sudan, Senegal, Kuwait, Morocco, Malaysia, and Egypt, as well as the internationally recognised government of Yemen. Meanwhile, the Yemeni armed forces affiliated with Yemeni President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi announced on Saturday restoring two strategic sites from the Houthis in Marib. Yemeni officials announced that the operation resulted in deaths and injuries amongst the Houthis. Two weeks ago, the Ansar Allah movement announced the killing of Saleh Al-Samad, the president of Yemen's so-called Supreme Political Council, which is affiliated with the Houthi group. Al-Samad was killed in an airstrike carried out by the Saudi-led coalition in the governorate of Hudaydah. The movement appointed Mahdi Al-Mashat, who previously directed the office of Abdel Malek Al-Houthi, the leader of the movement, to replace Al-Samad. The conflict in Yemen resulted in the deaths of more than 100,000 civilians and the wounding of hundreds of thousands. It has also posed a humanitarian crisis in the impoverished country as well as medical issues.
