The Export Development Authority (EDA) has been able to intensify its continued efforts throughout August in order to enhance the exportation process in Egypt, according to the latest report received by Tarek Kabil on Wednesday about the performance indicators of EDA. EDA has been keen on implementing the general vision of the state for exportation through developing the export policies and putting forward the necessary plans and programs to implement this vision. Tarek Kabil said that the authority is working on enhancing and promoting exports as well as building the Egyptian exporters' abilities. It is also keen on carrying out structural and institutional advancements and strengthening links between the export sector and the concerned bodies. For her part, Sherine El Shorbagy, the chairperson of EDA, said that several workshops were organized in coordination with the Trade and Domestic Market Enhancement Programme (TDMEP), where several challenges were discussed as well as a number of required solutions. In terms of export promotion sector, El Shorbagy said that the sector has put forward a proposal to organize trade weeks for Egyptian products in Guinea, Uganda, Nigeria, Cote d'Ivoire, Senegal, and Tanzania, with the aim of opening new markets for Egyptian products in Africa. About 13 training sessions were organized for 782 trainees so far, and several new training programs were developed in the several fields with the aim of developing export abilities, according to El Shorbagy.
