Al-Hadari future still in the balance
Published in Daily News Egypt on 28 - 06 - 2009

CAIRO: Essam Al-Hadari confirmed that he restored ties with Ahly s officials, but denied concluding an agreement to join the Cairo club this summer.
An official told FilGoal.com last week that Ahly s newly-appointed coach Hossam Al-Badri had a discussion with the Egypt goalkeeper about a possible comeback to the Egyptian champions in the close season.
It was also said that Al-Hadari and Ahly s board have finally reconciled after Egyptian dignitaries interfered to put an end to their conflict.
I have a good relationship with Ahly now, but I m not really poised to rejoin the club, Al-Hadari told Egyptian TV.
Several politicians asked me to get back to Ahly, but none of the club s officials offered me this opportunity.
Al-Hadary left Ahli to join FC Sion in February 2008 without the former outfit s consent, a transfer that turned the Red Devils against the ex-Ahli skipper.
He later said that he regretted the move to the Swiss side, and expressed his wish to return to Ahly.
But his statements fell on deaf ears.
Ahly s board also filed a complaint against him to FIFA, and later on the 36-year-old was handed a four-month suspension that would start in August.
After putting in memorable display in Egypt s historic 1-0 win over Italy in the FIFA Confederations Cup, Al-Hadari revealed his intention of joining a Serie A club.
He reiterated that Europe was his favorable destination, and assured that Ahly would financially benefit if he accepted an overseas offer.
I believe Ahly should get a percentage from any transfer fee I receive from a European club, I have already told my agent that, Al-Hadari said in an attempt to further clear the air.
The controversial custodian also refuted reports claiming the he signed for Ismaili, but admitted that he could eventually join the Dervishes.
I didn t sign a contract with Ismaili, but I reached a verbal agreement with their president (Nasr Aboul-Hassan) that I will join his club if I don t move to a European side, he concluded.
