CAIRO: Ahmed "Mido Hossam is a major doubt for Middlesbrough s game against Aston Villa on Saturday, manager Gareth Southgate said Wednesday. The Egypt striker is suffering from a groin strain and was given a one-week rest that he spent in Egypt. And despite making progress, Southgate fears Mido, alongside Julio Arca and Fabio Rochemback, would suffer setbacks if they were rushed into action. Arca, Mido and Rochemback are not ready at the moment, Southgate was quoted as saying by Sky Sports. But they are making progress and we ll wait until the last possible minute before making a decision. Southgate rued Mido s injuries that kept him on the sidelines recently. Mido started like a house on fire but has had one or two niggles since, he said. The 24-year-old Mido has only made one appearance in October.
