The Armed Forces Arming Authority has begun negotiations to obtain biometric devices responsible for the entry and exit of airport employees. Ismail Aboul Ezz, chairperson of the Egyptian Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation (EHCAAN), said that provision of biometric devices was assigned to the Armed Forces Arming Authority. The provision of biometric devices was one of the Russian demands to enhance security in airports. He told Daily News Egypt that contracting with an international company has been completed in order to obtain these devices. They are installed in the roads leading to airports, as well as inside and outside departure and arrival halls, and along airstrips. The total cost of the cameras in Sharm El-Sheikh airport reached EGP 45m, and in Cairo airport EGP 90m. They will soon be installed in Hurghada airport, Borg El-Arab airport, and the airports in Luxor and Aswan. Modern detection devices are used at the entrances of airports and inside arrival halls.
