Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi condemned on Friday the terror attack that took place in the city of Nice in southern France and left at least 84 killed, after a truck plowed into a crowd celebrating Bastille Day on Thursday evening. Al-Sisi expressed his condolences to French president François Hollande and government officials, confirming Egypt's solidarity and assistance with the international efforts to counter terrorism. He also confirmed that such attacks will never weaken the peace-loving countries and people's resolve, but it will make them insist on combating terrorism. The president concluded asking the international community to exert concentrated efforts to confront terrorism, as it a threat to the security and stability of countries. At least 84 died, and around 120 people were injured, including 18 in critical condition, in the attack. Victims and wounded were sent to a hospital in Nice, which has announced a state of emergency. Following the attack, Hollande announced a nationwide state of emergency, saying that it would not extend beyond 26 July. In November, France witnessed tight security measures during the Paris attacks that were allegedly committed by Islamic State-affiliated militants, and killed 130 French people in the French capital.
