Despite injury to Curry, Warriors defeat Nuggets in overtime
The reigning MVP of the league has averaged 29.7 points per game, 5.5 rebounds per game, and 6.4 assists per game so far this season.

Despite the loss of Stephen Curry, the league's reigning MVP and a leading candidate to win the award again this year, the depleted Golden State Warriors were able to hold off the Denver Nuggets 111-108 in an overtime win on Saturday night.
The Golden State Warriors star, Stephen Curry returned to the court on Sunday after missing the previous two games due to an injury he suffered to his left shin against the Sacramento Kings last Monday night. However, Curry was only on the court for 14 minutes before he was forced to leave the game after he reinjured reinjured his left shin.
Curry reinjured his leg when defending Nugget's guard Jameer Nelson during a routine pick-and-roll in the second quarter.
Klay Thompson and Draymond Green supplemented the Warriors' play in Curry's absence. Thompson made a difficult finger roll layup with 15.6 seconds left in overtime to push the Warriors ahead for the final time. Green notched 29 points, 17 rebounds and 14 assists for his NBA-leading sixth triple-double.
The Golden State Warriors have had a historic start to the 2015-2016 season, winning 24 games consecutively. Their first loss came at the start of December when they lost to the Milwaukee Bucks. Their second loss came during Curry's recent injury absence when they lost to the Dallas Mavericks in a blow out.
The 27-year-old Curry, who is already widely considered to be one of the greatest shooters in the National Basketball Association's history, suffered from chronic ankle injuries at the beginning of his career but was able to take preventative measures to overcome the injury entirely. This recent injury does not seem to be connected to these earlier issues even though it does represent a departure from the excellent health Curry has enjoyed in more recent history.
Curry was awarded the ESPY Award for Best Male Athlete and named the NBA Most Valuable Player in 2015. Curry was also awarded the AP Male Athlete of the Year for 2015.
Curry is the son of Dell Curry, a former professional basketball player who played for the NBA from 1986 until 2002. In addition to his dazzling play, Curry gained international fame when a video of his daughter attending a press conference with her father during last year's playoffs went viral on social media.
Curry has averaged 29.7 points per game, 5.5 rebounds per game, and 6.4 assists per game so far this season.
