Cement prices stable for 1 month, 2 companies decrease prices
Cement production volume exceeds that of last month by 143,147 tonnes

Cement companies and factories stabilised their maximum limit of cement prices, except for ASEC Menya, which dropped prices by EGP 105 to reach EGP 750 per tonne, and the Spanish Egyptian Cement Company, which dropped prices by EGP 50 to reach EGP 530 per tonne.
The cement production volume amounted to 969,403 tonnes this month, and the total amount put forth for sale by the producing companies amounted to 945,315 tonnes, according to a Ministry of Supply statement on Wednesday.
Meanwhile the amount in distributed the domestic market amounted to 1.015m tonnes, and the exported amount reached 8,260 tonnes.
Minister of Supply Khaled Hanafy said in the statement these prices were applied for a month, starting from 20 September. He added that the production volume exceeded that of last month by 143,147 tonnes, and the amount put up for sale increased by 79,455 tonnes, while sales increased by 161,865 tonnes.
Hanafy added that the sale prices of the Suez Cement Group (Tourah Portland Cement, Helwan Cement, Suez Cement) amounted to EGP 850 per tonne, the National Cement company's prices reached EGP 750 per tonne for Greater Cairo and EGP 770 per tonne for other governorates, while prices in Lafarge reached EGP 871 per tonne for Cairo and EGP 893 per tonne for other governorates.
Further, Sinai Cement's prices were set at EGP 815 per tonne for South Sinai and EGP 800 per tonne for other governorates, while Al-Sweidy's prices are EGP 879 per tonne for Cairo, and EGP 899 per tonne for other governorates.
Saied Hagag, head of the domestic trade sector in the Ministry of Supply, said that companies and agents can sell at lower prices on the condition of declaring the price when selling to the consumers.
Hagag added that the sector inspectors conduct daily inspection campaigns at cement companies and factories, as well as wholesalers and retailers, to ensure their commitment to these prices.
