Another inmate dies in Egypt's prisons
Diab died of a decline in blood flow, according to the interior ministry

A Tora Prison inmate, Hosny Khairy Diab, died on 30 August, amidst accusations of medical negligence. Diab was arrested during the dispersal of the Rabaa Al-Adaweya sit-in in 2013.
The dissolved Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) claimed on its official website that Diab died in Abu Za'abal Prison due to "medical negligence", and accused the Ministry of Interior that it refused to provide medication to the prisoner as a part of its "systematic medical negligence murder".
Diab, according to the Ministry of Interior, was charged, among others, in case no. 15899/2013, entitled the "Rabaa sit-in dispersal", in which the prisoner was accused of murder, attempted murder, vandalism, theft and illegal assembly.
General Abu Bakr Abdel Kareem, Minister of Interior's Assistant for Media and Public Relations, said in a statement on Tuesday that Diab died in Qasr Al-Eini Hospital due to a sharp decline in blood flow.
Abdel Kareem added that Diab was transferred from Tora Prison to Qasr Al-Eini Hospital on 25 August due to his Hepatitis-C. The initial death report on Diab states that the cause of death was a sharp decline in blood flow and cardiac arrest, Abdel Kareem said.
He denied the allegations that Diab's death was caused by medical negligence and the prevention of healthcare.
Diab's death is not the first incident of its kind to occur this month, as other inmates have died in police stations and prisons.
In Fayoum, two detainees died in the city's police station last week. The family of one of the deceased men accused the police of torturing the detainee to death.
Also, in Hurghada, two detainees died in the city's police station. The two incidents are being investigated by the prosecution.
