Prime Minister Ibrahim Mehleb arrived in Dubai Wednesday morning for a two-day visit for the Dubai Government Summit, where he delivered a keynote speech in its concluding session, state media reported.
Upon arrival, Mehleb was received by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. In his speech, Mehleb said Egypt is currently constructing a "modern democratic state". He invited businessmen and investors to participate in the Economic Summit in March and urged them to pump more investments into Egypt, state media reported.
Mehleb described Dubai as the "city of happiness, welfare, and security", and added: "We hope to eradicate the roots of terrorism in the Arab world."
The Summit is being held under the title "Shaping Future Governments", and brings leaders together to discuss the future of government systems.
Mehleb thanked the UAE's President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, and Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, for their invitation to the summit. He also thanked them for all the support they have provided to Egypt's government and people.
