Cairo will host the 16th Arab Business Owners and Investors Conference, entitled "Investment in Egypt: Investment in the Future", on 23-24 November, under the auspices of President Abdel Fatah Al-Sisi.
Over 1000 leaders of business and finance and senior Arab and foreign dignitaries are expected to attend, Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce (FEDCOC) head Ahmed Al-Wakil said.
Al-Wakil said FEDCOC's Board of Directors agreed to host Egypt for this congress' session, held periodically since 1982, in an exception made to support Egypt. The event has been organised by the General Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture for Arab Countries (GUCCIAAC) and FEDCOC.
It has been organised in cooperation with the Egyptian government, the Arab League, The Arab Investment & Export Credit Guarantee Corporation (DHAMAN) and the Economy and Business group.
The conference aims to raise awareness among the Arab business community and investors on the general economic climate in Egypt and investment policy trends. It also aims to inform them about investment opportunities in diverse economic sectors.
The conference seeks to provide information about investment, development, and reconstruction projects offered and promoted in Egypt. Additionally, it will highlight the investment map, new laws and legislation, and successful experiences of Arab investors in Egypt.
Al-Wakil said that this year's session will witness participation by prominent senior Egyptian, Arab, and foreign officials, including Prime Minister Ibrahim Mehleb and Arab League Secretary General Nabil El-Araby.
Economic, infrastructure and legislative committees will also attend, as well as a number of important Arab diplomatic and economic figures and over 1,000 Arab and foreign businessmen and women. This year's guest of honour at the conference is UAE Minister of State, Sultan Ahmed Al-Jaber
Other participants will include heads and members of Arab chambers and federations, as well as heads of banks and financial institutions, agencies and institutions that encourage investment. Also in attendance will be unions and economic and financial organisations, financial and investment funds, and development banks.
"Egypt enjoys tremendous advantages and an investment diversity that should be taken advantage of," GUCCIAAC Head Mohamado Walad Mohamed Mahmoud said. "Egypt hosting the 16th session of the Arab Business Owners and Investors conference will open broad prospects to develop and expand cooperation between Egypt and Arab countries on the one hand, and Egypt and foreign countries on the other."
The conference will be accompanied by workshops for marketing investment projects, and side meetings may be held between participants to review investment opportunities and listen to presentations made during the workshops.
